DTC DETECTION LOGIC

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

1.

PRECONDITIONING

Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 12 minutes.

>> GO TO 2.

2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

1.

Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 1 second.

2.

Check DTC.

Is DTC detected?

YES

>> Proceed to 

ECH-162, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

NO

>> INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK ECM HARNESS CONNECTOR CONNECTION

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF. 

2.

Check ECM harness connector connection F17 and F18.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair or replace ECM harness connector connection.

2.

CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR HARNESS CONNECTOR CONNECTION

Check intake air temperature sensor harness connector connection F76.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace intake air temperature sensor harness connector connection.

3.

CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT

1.

Disconnect intake air temperature sensor harness connector.

2.

Check the continuity between intake air temperature sensor harness connector and ECM harness con-
nector.

3.

Also check harness for short to ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

DTC No.

or more.

• Harness or connectors

(Intake air temperature sensor circuit is 
open or shorted.)

• Intake air temperature sensor

>> Repair or replace error-detected parts.

4.

CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT

Check the continuity between intake air temperature sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> Repair or replace error-detected parts.

5.

CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Check intake air temperature sensor. Refer to 

ECH-163, "Component Inspection"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-41, "Intermittent Incident"

.

NO

>> Replace intake air temperature sensor.

CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect intake air temperature sensor harness connector.

3.

Check the resistance between intake air temperature sensor terminals as per the following conditions.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> Replace intake air temperature sensor.

1.

PRECONDITIONING

Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 12 minutes.

>> GO TO 2.

2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

1.

Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 1 second.

2.

Check DTC.

Is DTC detected?

YES

>> Proceed to 

ECH-164, "Diagnosis Procedure"

NO

>> INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR AND ECM HARNESS CONNECTOR CONNECTIONS

Check intake manifold pressure sensor harness connector connection F99 and ECM harness connector con-
nection F18.
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair or replace intake manifold pressure sensor or ECM harness connector connection.

2.

CHECK INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT

1.

Disconnect intake manifold pressure sensor harness connector.

2.

Turn ignition switch ON.

3.

Check the voltage between intake manifold pressure sensor harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

3.

CHECK INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect ECM harness connector.

3.

Check the continuity between intake manifold pressure sensor harness connector and ECM harness con-
nector.

YES

>> GO TO 4.

NO

>> Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

4.

CHECK INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT

1.

Check the continuity between intake manifold pressure sensor harness connector and ECM harness con-
nector.

2.

Also check harness for short to ground and power.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

5.

CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

Refer to 

GI-41, "Intermittent Incident"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace intake manifold pressure sensor.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness or connectors.
