< REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION >

OIL PUMP

2.

Remove oil pan lower. Refer to 

EM-46, "Removal and Installation"

.

3.

Disconnect oil pump connector (1).

4.

Remove metal clip (1) and unclip oil pump connector.

5.

Remove: Refer to 

EM-89, "Exploded View"

.

• Oil pump strainer.
• Oil pump bracket.
• Oil pump from oil pump chain.
• Oil pump.

CAUTION:

Never disassemble oil pump.

INSTALLATION

Note the following and install in the reverse order as removal.
1.

Install oil pump.

CAUTION:

• Check that oil pump chain is correctly install on the oil pump sprocket.
• Before crank the engine, rotate crankshaft by hand to be sure that oil pump chain is correctly

install on the oil pump sprocket.

• Never reuse O-ring.

Inspection

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION

1.

Check the engine oil level. Refer to 

LU-8, "Inspection"

.

2.

Start the engine, and check that there is no leakage of engine oil.

3.

Stop the engine and wait for 10 minutes.

4.

Check the engine oil level, and adjust the level. Refer to 

LU-8, "Inspection"

.

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1.

Drain engine coolant. Refer to 

CO-11, "Draining"

.

CAUTION:

Perform when engine is cold.

2.

Remove air inlet tube. Refer to 

EM-27, "Exploded View"

.

3.

Remove water hose.

4.

Remove oil cooler.

INSTALLATION

Note the following and install is in reverse order of removal.

• Tighten bolts in the numerical order as shown in the figure.

Inspection

INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL

Oil Cooler

Check oil cooler for cracks. Check oil cooler for clogging by blowing through engine coolant inlet. If necessary,
replace oil cooler assembly.

INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION

1.

Check the engine oil level and the engine coolant level and add engine oil and engine coolant. Refer to

CO-11, "Inspection"

 and 

LU-8, "Inspection"

.

2.

Start the engine, and check that there is no leakage of engine oil or engine coolant.

3.

Stop the engine and wait for 10 minutes.

4.

Check the engine oil level and the engine coolant level again. Refer to 

LU-8, "Inspection"

 and 

CO-11,

"Inspection"

.
