XENON HEADLAMP

• Brightness and the color of light may change slightly immediately after turning the headlamp ON until the

xenon bulb becomes stable. This is normal.

• Illumination time lag may occur between right and left. This is normal.

AUTO LIGHT SYSTEM

The headlamp may not be turned ON/OFF immediately after passing dark area or bright area (short tunnel,

sky bridge, shadowed area, etc.) while using the auto light system. This is caused by for the control difference.

This is normal.

Both side headlamps (HI) are not turned ON when setting to the lighting switch HI or PASS.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION

Check combination switch. Refer to 

BCS-92, "Symptom Table"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

2.

CHECK HIGH BEAM REQUEST SIGNAL

With CONSULT

1. Turn ignition switch ON.

2. Select “HL HI REQ” in “Data Monitor” mode of “IPDM E/R” using CONSULT.

3. With operating the lighting switch, check the monitor status.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to 

PCS-37, "Removal and Installation"

.

NO

>> Replace BCM. Refer to 

BCS-94, "Removal and Installation"
