AMBIENT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT

AMBIENT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT

Description

INFOID:0000000001537467

The ambient sensor detects ambient temperature and converts it into a resistance value which is then input
into the combination meter.
NOTE:
On vehicles equipped with auto A/C, the ambient sensor signal is shared with the front air control. The combi-
nation meter is notified of the signal sharing via the auto A/C sense circuit.

Diagnosis Procedure

INFOID:0000000001537468

1.

CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect combination meter connector and ambient sensor
connector.

3.

Check continuity between combination meter harness connector
M24 (A) terminal 19 and ambient sensor harness connector E60
(B) terminal 2.

4.

Check continuity between combination meter harness connector
M24 (A) terminal 19 and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2

NO

>> Repair harness or connector.

2.

CHECK AMBIENT SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT

1.

Check continuity between combination meter harness connector
M24 (A) terminal 20 and ambient sensor harness connector E60
(B) terminal 1.

2.

Check continuity between combination meter harness connector
M24 (A) terminal 20 and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> • With auto A/C: GO TO 3

• Without auto A/C: INSPECTION END

NO

>> Repair harness or connector.

3.

CHECK AUTO A/C SENSE SIGNAL

1.

Connect combination meter and ambient sensor connectors.

2.

Turn ignition switch ON.

3.

Check voltage between combination meter harness connector
M24 terminal 25 and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END
