Using special tool Claw (MD999566), remove the 
outer race from the clutch housing.

<<B>> OUTER RACE REMOVAL

1. Set special tools as indicated in the figure.

•

Valve spring compressor (MD998772)

•

Bearing outer race remover (MD998346)

2. Turn the nut on special tool Bearing outer race 

remover (MD998346) to pull up on the tool and 
take out the outer race.

REASSEMBLY SERVICE POINTS

>>A<< BUSHING INSTALLATION

1. Press fit the bushing so the seam is away from 

the air vent.

2. Be sure the bushing is fully seated as shown. It 

must be 1 mm below the housing surface.

>>B<< OUTER RACE INSTALLATION

1. Check the installation direction of the outer race.

Install the outer race so the side with the model 
number stamping can be seen.

2. Using special tools, press fit the outer race into 

the clutch housing.

>>D<<OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

1. Apply gear oil (Hypoid gear oil SAE 75W-90 or 

75W-85W conforming to API classification GL-4) 
to the oil seal lip.

2. Using special tool Differential oil seal installer 

(MD998325), press fit the oil seal into the clutch 
housing.

>>E<< OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

1. Pack grease (MITSUBISHI genuine grease part 

No.0101011 or equivalent).

2. Using special tools, press fit the oil seal into the 

clutch housing.
