STEP 22. Check the following connectors.

• HBB connector B-17

• M-ASTC-ECU connector E-119

Check connectors, for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, 
or terminals pushed back in the connector.
Q: Are the connectors and terminals in good condition?

YES : Go to Step 23.
NO :  Repair the faulty connector or terminal. Then go to 

Step 25.

STEP 23. Check the following harness wire.

• The wire between M-ASTC-ECU connector E-119 (terminal 

25) and HBB connector B-17 (terminal 4)

Q: Is the harness wire damaged?

YES : Repair or replace it and then go to Step 25.
NO :  Go to Step 24.

STEP 24. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code.
(1) Erase the DTC memory.
(2) Recheck for diagnostic trouble code.
Q: Is DTC 54 set?

YES : Replace the M-ASTC-ECU (Refer to GROUP 35C, M-

ASTC-ECU 

P.35C-205

). Then go to Step 25.

NO :  It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent.

STEP 25. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code.
(1) Erase the DTC memory.
(2) Recheck for diagnostic trouble code.
Q: Is DTC 54 set?

YES : Start over at Step 1.
NO :  The procedure is complete.
