Diagnosis code No. B1710: ETACS-ECU Internal Error (ROM Problem)
Diagnosis code No. B1711: ETACS-ECU Internal Error (RAM Problem) CAUTION • If diagnosis code No.B1709, B1710 or B1711 are set in the ETACS-ECU, diagnose the CAN • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are nor- TROUBLE JUDGMENT If there is any trouble in the ETACS-ECU, diagnosis COMMENT ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM The wiring harness wire or connectors may have PROBABLE CAUSES • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU • Damaged harness wires and connectors DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE Step 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics Q: Is the check result normal? YES : Go to Step 2. NO : Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP − Diagnosis Step 2. ECU check by using the SWS monitor. • Ignition switch: ON ECU TO BE CHECKED • ETACS ECU OK: "OK" is displayed on the "ETACS ECU" Q: Is the check result normal? YES : Go to Step 3. NO : Refer to Inspection Procedure A-3 Step 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is position to "ON" position. (3) On completion, check that the diagnosis code is not reset. Q: Is the check result normal? YES : The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 − How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service − How to Cope with Intermittent ).
