LUMINOUS INTENSITY MEASUREMENT

• Measure the luminous intensity of headlamps with a pho-

tometer in accordance with the instruction manual prepared 
by the manufacturer of the photometer and make sure that 
the luminous intensity is within the following limit.

Limit::  High beam:   18,000 cd or more                 
             Low beam:      7,000 cd or more

NOTE: . When measuring the intensity, maintain an engine 
speed of 2,000 r/min, with the battery fully charged.
There may be special local regulations pertaining to headlamp 
intensity. Be sure to make any adjustments necessary to satisfy 
such regulations.

 BULB REPLACEMENT

Headlamp (High/Low Beam)

1. Turn the cap (A) anticlockwise and remove it.

2. While pressing the indicated points (B) on the sides of the 

socket, pull out the socket.

3. Unhook the spring (C), which secures the bulb, and remove 

the bulb.

CAUTION

• Handle halogen lamp with care. The gas inside halogen 

lamp bulb is highly pressurised, so dropping, knock-
ing, or scratching a halogen lamp bulb can cause it to 
shatter.

•  Never hold the halogen lamp bulb with a bare hand, 

dirty glove, etc. The oil from your hand  could cause the 
bulb to break the next time the headlamps are operated. 
If the glass surface is dirty, it must be cleaned with 
alcohol, paint thinner, etc., and refit it after drying it 
thoroughly.

Headlamp Bulb (High Beam)

1. Turn the cap (A) anticlockwise and remove it.

2. Turn the bulb socket (B) anticlockwise to remove it. Remove 

the bulb from the socket by pulling it out.

3. Connect the headlamp bulb to the socket by pushing in and 

install bulb socket to the headlamp by twisting clockwise.
