• The front hub assembly which uses a unit bearing

(double tapered roller bearing) is mounted on the
knuckle.

• ABS rotor for detecting the wheel speed is press-

fitted into the front hub. <Vehicles with ABS>

<4WD>
The front axle consists of the front hub assembly,
driveshaft, inner shaft, front differential, and it has the
following features:

• A free-wheel mechanism that allows changeover

between 2WD and 4WD while the vehicle is trav-
elling.

• The wheel bearing uses a unit bearing (double

tapered roller bearing) with strong transverse
load bearing ability.

• The driveshaft incorporates BJ-DOJ type con-

stant velocity joints with high transmission effi-
ciency for low vibration and noise.

• Due to the use of the inner shaft, the right and left

driveshafts are approximately the same in length.
This reduces noise, vibration and torque steer.

• ABS rotor for detecting the wheel speed is press-

fitted to the BJ outer wheel. <Vehicles with ABS>
