Ford F150 Pickup. Instruction - part 1294
Removal
1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner outlet tube. Disconnect throttle position sensor
connector and idle air control connector. Disconnect vacuum lines and vent hose. See Fig. 43 .
Disconnect throttle and cruise control cables. Note orientation of throttle return spring, as it must be
reinstalled in the correct orientation. Remove throttle return spring. Remove throttle cable bracket. See
Fig. 44 . Disconnect EGR valve hose and tube fitting. Remove bracket bolt and brake booster hose.
2. Remove throttle body spacer. See Fig. 45 . Remove supercharger drive belt. Open drain on supercharger
charge air radiator to drain charge air cooling system. Remove charge air cooling system hoses from
charge air cooler. Disconnect charge air cooling system supply lines from intake and set aside. See Fig.
46 . Remove EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR) bracket. See Fig. 47 .
3. Remove 2 upper vacuum hoses from supercharger by-pass valve actuator. Remove supercharger and
plenum assembly. See Fig. 48 . Disconnect vacuum hose (1) and charge air cooling hoses (2) from upper
intake manifold. See Fig. 49 . Remove bolts (3) and upper intake manifold. Remove charge air cooler
bolts and discard. Remove charge air cooler assembly.
NOTE:
Numbers in parenthesis refer to number in illustration.
NOTE:
Clean areas around supercharger. Ensure no foreign material enters
supercharger or engine during service. Note position of throttle return spring
before removal.
