AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS 

INTAKE MANIFOLD 

Removal (4.2L - Upper Intake Manifold) 

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner outlet tube. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) 

valve electrical connector. Remove IAC valve. See Fig. 1 . Remove accelerator control splash shield. See 
Fig. 2 . Disconnect accelerator and cruise control cable from throttle body. Detach accelerator cable and, 
if equipped, the speed control cable actuator cable from the cable bracket on intake manifold. See Fig. 3 . 

2. Disconnect PCV hose from upper intake manifold. Disconnect spark plug wire holders. Evenly loosen 12 

upper intake manifold bolts. Remove upper intake manifold. Inspect gaskets and replace as necessary.
