Removal 

1. If removing the fuel tank for replacement of the fuel tank or the fuel tank solenoid valve, perform the 

Pressure Relief-Fuel Tank Venting procedure; Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .  

2. If removing the fuel tank for replacement of lines or support straps, turn in the instruction lockdown valve 

jackscrew on the fuel tank solenoid valve.

3. Perform the Pressure Relief - Fuel Line Venting procedure; Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

RELEASE .  

4. Disconnect the battery ground cable.  

5. Raise and support the vehicle.  

6. Remove the inboard stone shield retaining nuts.

7. Remove the stone shield. 

1. Remove the outboard stone shield retaining nuts.  

2. Remove the stone shield.
