4. Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.

5. Remove the four converter-to-manifold nuts.

6. Remove the two bolts retaining the heat shield to the transmission support crossmember.

7. Using a suitable high-lift jack, support the transmission.  

8. Remove the nuts. 

CAUTION: Support the transmission on the oil pan rails only or internal 

transmission damage may occur.
