2. Position the engine in the vehicle.  

3. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & 

HOISTING .  

4. Install the engine support insulator through bolts.

5. If equipped with a instruction transmission, install the clutch. For additional information, refer 

to CLUTCH .  

6. Install the transmission-to-engine bolts. 



If equipped with an automatic transmission, refer to AUTOMATIC 
TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION-4R100 or AUTOMATIC 
TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION-4R70W .  



If equipped with a instruction transmission, refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION .  

7. Install the starter motor. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & 

INSTALLATION .  

8. Install the four three-way catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts (two each side).

9. If equipped, connect the block heater electrical connector.

10. Lower the vehicle.  

11. Connect the generator electrical connectors. 

1. Connect the battery positive cable.  

2. Install the battery positive nut and washer assembly.  

3. Connect the two generator electrical connectors.

12. Install the fuel injectors and the fuel injector supply manifold. For additional information, 

refer to FUEL SYSTEMS .  

13. Connect the fuel tube spring lock couplings. For additional information, refer to FUEL 

LINE CONNECTORS .  

14. Install the fuel charging wiring harness. For additional information, refer to FUEL 

SYSTEMS .  

15. Install the power steering pump. 

1. Position the pump.  

2. Install the four bolts.
