11 Electrically closing the main s witch The m ain s witch (D924) can b e c losed: - Electrically in the c ab using s witch C 853 - Electrically on the c hassis u sing switch C854 A TTENTION: Switches C853 and C854 are c onnected in series. When C853 or C854 is switched on, the o ther switch must be in the ‘main s witch o n ’ position. When C853 or C854 is operated, the C 1 and C2 connections are c onnected to the C4 and C5 connections through wire 4176, contacts 5-7o fs w it c hC 853, wire 4177, contacts 1 - 2 of switch C854 and wire 4178. Relays G367 and G368 are immediately energised through wire 4174 and connection point A3 (A3 is c onnected to earth in the unit for 0 .5 seconds). This connects point 88a to 88 of relays G367 and G368. The positive and the negative poles of the batteries are now connected to the vehicle ’s power supply . Immediately a fter s witch C 853 closes, connection point A7 is internally connected to earth. Connection point A5 is connected to the positive pole v ia wire 3173 and fuse E330 after c onnection point 88 of relay G 367. This connection transmits a s ignal to the E CU to indicate that relay G 367 has switched. Electrically opening the main s witch The m ain s witch (D924) can b e opened: - Electrically in the c ab using s witch C 853 - Electrically on the c hassis u sing switch C854 A TTENTION: Switches C853 and C854 are c onnected in series. When C853 or C854 is switched on, the o ther switch must be in the ‘main s witch o n ’ position. When C853 or C854 is operated, the C 1 and C2 connections are d isconnected from the C4 and C5 connections through wire 4176, c o n ta c ts 5-7o fs w it c hC 853, wire 4177, c o n ta c ts 1-2o fs w it c hC 8 5 4 a n d w ir e 4178. T w o a ctions are c arried out immediately a fter switch C853 is opened: 1. Connection point A7 is disconnected from earth (A2) in the unit. If the engine is running, it is switched of f. 2. After a delay of approx. 6 seconds, relays G367 and G368 are connected to earth in the unit for approx. 0 .5 seconds via w ire 4175 and connection point A4. T his breaks the connection between points 88a and 88 of relays G367 and G368. The batteries are now disconnected from the v ehicle ’s power supply . Connection point A5 is connected to the positive pole v ia wire 3173 and fuse E330 after c onnection point 88 of relay G 367. This connection transmits a s ignal to the E CU to indicate that relay G 367 has switched. Note: When one of the s witches (C853 or C854) that activate the e lectronic unit (close m ain switch) is operated, relays G 367 and G368 are a ctivated after approximately 3 seconds. If one of the s witches is operated again w ithin the 3 s econds, the electronic unit (D924) will select the priority ‘main switch ON ’. 200332 ᓻ 2-27 Changes in the electrical system from chassis number 0E570448 5 CHANGES IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CF65/75/85 series |
