10 32 PT O ‘REQUEST’ P TO 1 (= S WITCH O N) When the P TO operation switch (C750) is operated, a voltage is applied to connection point D27 of D 900 (VIC) through fuse E091, wire 1240, contacts 5 - 1 of switch C 750 and wire 4594. The P TO can also be switched on through connection point 11 of A068 (engine speed control application connector). This means that a ‘request’ to use the PT O has been made. This ‘request’ is implemented depending on the conditions programmed in the VIC. A condition might be that the parking brake m ust be engaged. In this case, a voltage is applied to connection point 1 of parking brake switch F000 through fuse E035, wire 121 1. If parking brake switch F 000 is closed (connection between contacts 1 and 2), this voltage is also on connection point B22 of D 814 (UPEC electronic unit) through wire 3402 and on connection point D26 of D 900 (VIC). OPERA T ION When the ‘PT O request’ is implemented, the following takes place: A voltage is applied from connection point B23 of D 900 through wire 4596 to connection point 1 of B 245, thereby switching on the P TO . The V IC checks whether the P TO is actually switched on. This takes place as follows: When the P TO has been switched on, F087 is operated mechanically .C ontacts 1 - 2 of F 087 close. Connection point B14 of the VIC is now connected to earth. T he VIC then sends a mes sage to the D IP and the “PT O ac tiv e” warning is activated. If the P TO does NOT switch on, F087 is NOT operated and connection point B14 of the VIC is NOT connected to earth. A fter a period of time programmed in the VIC, a ‘message’ is sent to the D IP and the “PT O fault” warning symbol is activated. ‘CANCEL ’PT O 1 (= SWITCH OFF) Breaking contacts 5 - 1 of C 750 switches the PT O of f. T his interrupts the voltage from connection point D27 to D 900 (VIC). One of the switch-on conditions for operation of the PT O is now absent. T he VIC responds to this by also removing the voltage from connection point B23, causing the voltage at connection point 1 of B 245 to be lost. T he valve is no longer energised and the P TO is switched of f. ‘REQUEST’ P TO 2 (= S WITCH O N) When the P TO operation switch (C751) is operated, a voltage is applied to connection point D22 of D 900 (VIC) through fuse E091, wire 1240, contacts 5 - 1 of switch C 750 and wire 5241. This means that a ‘request’ to use the P TO has been made. 200404 2-136 5 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Electrical system CF65/75/85 series ≥0E621376 |
