With the DRBIII

t, erase DTC’s.

Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Disconnect the Power Top Switch connector.
Connect a jumper wire between Ground and the Power Top Switch Mux circuit.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII

t, read DTCs.

Does the DRBIII

t display POWER TOP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO

GROUND?

All

Yes

→ Replace the Power Top Switch.

Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

No

→ Go To 4

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Top Switch connector.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Power Top Switch Mux circuit between the Window
Module connector and the Power Top Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

All

Yes

→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the

Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

No

→ Repair the Power Top Switch Mux circuit for an open.

Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Symptom:

POWER TOP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

When Monitored and Set Condition:

POWER TOP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

When Monitored:

Whenever the module is awake.

Set Condition:

If the Module senses a voltage below 0.75 volts on the Power Top Switch

Mux circuit, this code will set.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

TROUBLE CODE PRESENT

POWER TOP SWITCH OPEN

POWER TOP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

With the DRBIII

t, record and erase DTC’s.

Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Operate the Power Top down and up.
Wait one minute.
With the DRBIII

t, read DTCs.

Does the DRBIII

t display POWER TOP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO

GROUND?

All

Yes

→ Go To 2

No

→ The conditions that caused this code to set is not present at this

time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for a intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

With the DRBIII

t, erase DTC’s.

Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off.
Disconnect the Power Top Switch connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII

t, read DTCs.

Does the DRBIII

t display POWER TOP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT OPEN?

All

Yes

→ Replace the Power Top Switch.

Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

No

→ Go To 3

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Top Switch connector.
Disconnect the Window Regulator Module connector.
Measure the resistance between Ground and the Power Top Switch Mux circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?

All

Yes

→ Replace the Window Regulator Module in accordance with the

Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

No

→ Repair the Power Top Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground.

When Monitored and Set Condition:

POWER TOP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT VALUE OUT OF RANGE

When Monitored:

Whenever the module is awake.

Set Condition:

If the Module receives a resistance value which is not acceptable on the

Power Top Switch Mux circuit, this code will set.

With the DRBIII

t, record and erase DTC’s.

Cycle the ignition switch from On to Off to on.
Operate the Power Top down and up.
Wait one minute.
With the DRBIII

t, read DTCs.

Does the DRBIII

t display POWER TOP SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT VALUE OUT OF

RANGE?

All

Yes

→ Go To 2

No

→ The conditions that caused this code to set is not present at this

time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for a intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Top Switch connector.
Turn off all lights.
Measure the resistance between Ground and the Power Top Switch Ground circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?

All

Yes

→ Go To 3

No

→ Repair the Power Top Switch Ground for an open.

Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
