PARKING BRAKE RELEASE HANDLE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT Compress the spring and rotate 1/4 turn to release. 4 Park Brake Shoe Hold Down Spring Pin (Qty: 2) 5 Park Brake Shoe Return Spring 6 Park Brake Shoe (Qty: 2) Procedure 1. Use denatured alcohol to clean brake dust or grease from the park brake shoes and hardware. 2. If reinstalling the park brake shoes, note the location of the park brake shoes for installation. 3. Apply a small amount of high temperature silicone grease to the brake shoe and backing plate contact points. 4. After the installation is complete, adjust the park brake. PARKING BRAKE LEVER PEDAL ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT Removal Procedure 1. Remove the left side hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement . 2. Disconnect the park brake warning lamp electrical connector. 3. Disable the park brake cable automatic adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling. 4. Remove the bolt and disconnect the park brake pedal release handle from the instrument panel. 5. Without disconnecting the electrical connectors, remove the left side instrument panel electrical center/junction block and position aside. Refer to Instrument Panel Electrical 6. Raise and support the vehicle.
