AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE K61 K Second Gear (L Range HOLD) Outline • The operation of shift solenoids A, B, and C in L range HOLD mode in second gear is the same as that of the D range in second gear. However, as the reduction timing solenoid is OFF in L range HOLD mode, the reduction timing valve is switched to adjust the reduction reducing pressure higher and engage the reduction brake, resulting in engine braking being applied. • Line pressure is also switched to high pressure before cut back to prepare for engine braking.
