Preliminary work

Preliminary work for footwell/defrost servo motor

1. Remove dashboard trim panel. → 701919 Removing and reinstalling trim panel under dashboard - chapter

on "Removing"

2. Remove left console cover. → 681419 Removing and installing cover for centre console - chapter on

"Removing"

Installation position

1. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

Unscrewing fastening screws

2. Unscrew the three fastening screws.

Releasing electric connector

3. Release and unplug electric connector -a- .

Disengaging actuating lever

4. Pull the servo motor out further until the actuating lever -A- can be

disengaged.

5. Remove servo motor.

1. Position servo motor and engage actuating lever on the servo

motor.

Connecting electric connector

2. Connect electric connector to servo motor until the connector is felt to

engage.

Securing servo motor

3. Position servo motor on heater/air-conditioning unit and tighten with fastening screws -1- . →

Tightening torque: 1.2 (1.0 ftlb.) Nm +/-0.5 (0.5 ftlb.) Nm

4. Switch on ignition and check function of servo motor by adjusting the air conditioning control.

2. Install dashboard cover. → 701919 Removing and installing trim panel under dashboard - chapter on
