11. DISCONNECT OUTLET NO. 1 CANISTER HOSE

(a) Disconnect the outlet No. 1 canister hose from the inlet fuel tank pipe sub-assembly.

(b) Detach the hose from the No. 1 breather tube clamp.

12. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY

(a) Set an engine lifter underneath the fuel tank assembly.

(b) for 100 L (26.4 US gal) Fuel Tank:

(1) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 clips, 2 pins, No. 1 fuel tank band

sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel tank band sub-assembly.

(c) for 144 L (38 US gal) Fuel Tank:

(1) Remove the 3 bolts, 3 clips, 3 pins, 2 No. 1 fuel tank band

sub-assemblies and No. 2 fuel tank band sub-assembly.

(d) Slowly lower the engine lifter slightly.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to cut the wiring.

(e) w/ Cover:

Detach the 3 claws and remove the No. 2 fuel tank protector.

(f) Detach the wire harness clamp from the fuel tank assembly

as shown in the illustration.

(g) Disconnect the fuel pump connector and lower the engine lifter.

Before this procedure, check the connector for dirt, mud or other contamination.
Do not use any tools in this procedure.

13. REMOVE INLET FUEL TANK PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and inlet fuel tank pipe sub-assembly.

14. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK HEAT INSULATOR

(a) for 100 L (26.4 US gal) Fuel Tank:

(1) Remove the nut from the No. 1 fuel tank heat insulator.

(2) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 4 clips shown in the

illustration and then remove the No. 1 fuel tank heat

insulator.

(b) for 144 L (38 US gal) Fuel Tank:

(1) Remove the 2 nuts from the No. 1 fuel tank heat

insulator.

(2) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 2 clips shown in the

illustration and then remove the No. 1 fuel tank heat

insulator.

15. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TANK HEAT INSULATOR (for 144 L (38 US gal) Fuel Tank)

(a) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 3 clips shown in the

illustration and then remove the No. 2 fuel tank heat

insulator.

16. REMOVE FUEL TANK TO FILLER PIPE HOSE

(a) Remove the fuel tank to filler pipe hose from the fuel tank

assembly.

17. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 tube joint clips and pull out the fuel tank main

tube sub-assembly and fuel tank return tube.

NOTICE:

Remove any dirt and foreign matter on the fuel tube joint
before performing this work.
Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter on the parts
when disconnecting them, as the fuel tube joint contains the
O-rings that seal the plug.
Perform this work by hand. Do not use any tools.
Do not forcibly bend, twist or turn the nylon tube.
Protect the disconnected part by covering it with a plastic bag
and tape after disconnecting the fuel tank tubes.

(b) Set SST on the retainer.

NOTICE:

(e) Remove the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly from the fuel tank assembly.
