(a) Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose

from the front water by-pass joint.

(b) Remove the 4 nuts, front water by-pass joint and 2 gaskets.

29. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER 

30. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER 

31. REMOVE AIR TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt, disconnect the 2 hoses, and remove the air

tube sub-assembly.

32. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING

(a) Remove the 3 bolts, water inlet housing and gasket.

33. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY

(a) Using SST, hold the water pump pulley.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and water pump pulley.

34. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and No. 1 idler pulley sub-assembly.

35. REMOVE FAN BRACKET ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and fan bracket assembly.

36. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the standard bolt, 6 mm hexagon bolt and V-ribbed

belt tensioner assembly.

37. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coils.

38. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 14 bolts, seal washer, cylinder head cover

sub-assembly LH and gasket.

HINT:

Make sure the removed parts are returned to the same

places they were removed from.

(b) Remove the 5 gaskets from the No. 2 camshaft bearing cap

and No. 3 camshaft bearing cap.

39. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Remove the 14 bolts, seal washer, cylinder head cover

sub-assembly RH and gasket.

HINT:

Make sure the removed parts are returned to the same

places they were removed from.

(b) Remove the 5 gaskets from the No. 1 camshaft bearing cap

and No. 3 camshaft bearing cap.

40. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

(a) Using SST, loosen the crankshaft pulley set bolt.

(b) Partially install the crankshaft pulley set bolt to the crankshaft pulley until 2 or 3 threads are engaged.

(c) Using the crankshaft pulley set bolt and SST, remove the

crankshaft pulley.

41. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp

bracket.

(a) Remove the 28 bolts and nut shown in the illustration.
