UNEXPECTED PEDAL REACTION BRC-93 < SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS > [VDC/TCS/ABS] C D E G H I J K L M A B BRC N O P UNEXPECTED PEDAL REACTION Diagnosis Procedure INFOID:0000000010049151 1. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL STROKE Check brake pedal stroke. Refer to BR-14, "Inspection and Adjustment" Is the stroke too big? YES >> • Bleed air from brake tube and hose. Refer to BR-16, "Bleeding Brake System" • Check brake pedal, brake booster, and master cylinder for mount play, looseness, brake system fluid leakage, etc. Refer to brake pedal BR-14, "Inspection and Adjustment" and master cylinder NO >> GO TO 2 2. CHECK FUNCTION Disconnect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) connector to deactivate ABS. Check if braking force is normal in this condition.Connect connector after inspection. YES >> GO TO 3 NO >> Check brake system. 3. CHECK WHEEL SENSOR AND SENSOR ROTOR Check the following: • Wheel sensor installation for damage. • Sensor rotor installation for damage. • Wheel sensor connector connection. • Wheel sensor harness inspection. YES >> GO TO 4 NO >> • Replace wheel sensor or sensor rotor. Refer to BRC-102, "Removal and Installation - Front or BRC-103, "Removal and Installation - Rear Wheel Sensor" • Repair harness. 4. CHECK ABS WARNING LAMP DISPLAY Make sure that the ABS warning lamp is turned off after the ignition switch is turned ON or when driving. YES >> Inspection End. NO >> Perform self-diagnosis. Refer to |
