The following functions are available when having and carrying electronic ID.
• Door lock/unlock
• Trunk lid open
• Engine start
Remote control entry function and panic alarm function have specific buttons.

CHECK FUNCTION

Check remote keyless entry receiver (“RKE OPE COUN1”) in Data Monitor mode with CONSULT-III.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Intelligent Key is OK.

NO

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY BATTERY

Check by connecting a resistance (approximately 300 

) so that the

current value becomes about 10 mA.

Is the measurement value within the specification?

YES

>> Replace Intelligent Key. 

NO

>> Replace Intelligent Key battery. Refer to 

DLK-84, "Com-

ponent Inspection"

.

Component Inspection

1.

 REPLACE INTELLIGENT KEY BATTERY

1.

Release the lock knob at the back of the Intelligent Key and remove the mechanical key.

2.

Insert a flat-bladed screwdriver (A) wrapped with a cloth into the
slit of the corner and twist it to separate the upper part from the
lower part.

CAUTION:

• Never touch the circuit board or battery terminal.
• The key fob is water-resistant. However, if it does get wet,

immediately wipe it dry. 

3.

Replace the battery with new one.

Check that the numerical value is changing while operating on the Intelligent Key.

Align the tips of the upper and lower parts, and then push them
together until it is securely closed.

CAUTION:

• When replacing battery, keep dirt, grease, and other for-

eign matter off the electrode contact area.

• After replacing the battery, check that all Intelligent Key

functions work normally.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Intelligent Key is OK.

NO

>> Check remote keyless entry receiver. Refer to 

DLK-67,

"Component Function Check"

YES

>> Key slot is OK.

NO

>> Refer to

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK FUSE

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Check 10 A fuse, [No.9, located in fuse block (J/B)].

Is fuse fusing?

YES

>> Replace the blown fuse after repairing the affected circuit if a fuse is blown.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK KEY SLOT POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

1.

Disconnect key slot connector.

2.

Check voltage between slot harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace key slot power supply circuit.

3.

CHECK KEY SLOT GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between key slot harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 4.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness.

4.

CHECK KEY SLOT CIRCUIT

1.

Disconnect BCM connector.

2.

Check continuity between BCM harness connector and key slot harness connector.
