< COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS >

[INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM]

POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT

Is the fuse fusing?

YES

>> Replace the blown fuse or fusible link after repairing the affected circuit if a fuse or fusible link is

blown.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.

3.

Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

Is the measurement value normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair harness or connector.

3.

CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connectors and ground.

Does continuity exist?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> Repair harness or connector.

HOOD SWITCH

Description

Hood switch is built into hood lock and connected to IPDM E/R which detects the open/close condition of
hood.

Component Function Check

1.

CHECK FUNCTION

1.

Select “HOOD SW” in “Data Monitor” mode with CONSULT-III. 

2.

Check the hood switch signal under the following condition.

Is the indication normal?

YES

>> Hood switch is OK.

NO

>> Go to  

SEC-113, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK HOOD SWITCH SIGNAL

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK HOOD SWITCH CIRCUIT

1.

Disconnect IPDM E/R connector and hood switch connector.

2.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and hood switch harness connector.

3.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness.

3.

CHECK IPDM E/R OUTPUT

1.

Connect IPDM E/R connector.

2.

Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

CHECK HOOD SWITCH

Refer to 

SEC-114, "Component Inspection"

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> Replace hood lock. Refer to 

DLK-220, "Removal and Installation"

.

5.

CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

Refer to 

GI-35, "Intermittent Incident"

• NVIS (Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System-NATS) and vehicle security system conditions are indicated by

blink or illumination of security indicator lamp.

1.

Perform “THEFT IND” in the “ACTIVE TEST” mode with CONSULT-III.

2.

Check security indicator lamp operation.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LAMP POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect combination meter connector.

3.

Check voltage between combination meter harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>>

Check the following.

• 10A fuse [No. 11, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
• Harness for open or short between combination meter and fuse.

2.

CHECK COMBINATION METER CIRCUIT

1.

Disconnect BCM connector.

2.

Check continuity between combination meter harness connector and BCM harness connector.

3.

Check continuity between combination meter harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness.
