ADP-84

< DTC/CIRCUIT DIAGNOSIS >

RECLINING SENSOR

RECLINING SENSOR

Description

INFOID:0000000009720726

• The reclining motor is installed to the seatback frame.
• The pulse signal is inputted to the driver seat control unit when the reclining is operated.
• The driver seat control unit counts the pulse and calculates the reclining amount of the seat.

Component Function Check

1.

CHECK FUNCTION

1.

Select “RECLN PULSE” in “Data monitor” mode with CONSULT.

2.

Check reclining sensor signal under the following conditions.

*1

: The value at the seat position attained when the battery is connected is considered to be 32768.

Is the indication normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> Perform diagnosis procedure. Refer to 

ADP-84, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK RECLINING SENSOR SIGNAL

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Read voltage signal between driver seat control unit harness connector and ground with oscilloscope.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace driver seat control unit. Refer to 

ADP-210, "Removal and Installation"

.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK RECLINING SENSOR CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect driver seat control unit and reclining motor connector.

3.

Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and reclining motor harness connec-
tor.

Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness or connector.

3.

CHECK RECLINING SENSOR POWER SUPPLY

1.

Connect driver seat control unit connector.

2.

Turn ignition switch ON.

3.

Check voltage between reclining motor harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> GO TO 4.

4.

CHECK RECLINING SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect driver seat control unit connector.

3.

Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and reclining motor harness connec-
tor.

4.

Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace driver seat control unit. Refer to 

ADP-210, "Removal and Installation"

.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness or connector.

5.

CHECK RECLINING SENSOR GROUND 

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Check continuity between reclining motor harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

• The lifting sensor (front) is installed to the seat cushion frame.
• The pulse signal is inputted to the driver seat control unit when the lifting (front) is operated.
• The driver seat control unit counts the pulse and calculates the lifting (front) amount of the seat.

CHECK FUNCTION

1.

Select “LIFT FR PULSE” in “Data monitor” mode with CONSULT.

2.

Check the lifting sensor (front) signal under the following conditions.

*1

:The value at the seat position attained when the battery is connected is considered to be 32768.

Is the indication normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> Perform diagnosis procedure. Refer to 

ADP-87, "Diagnosis Procedure"

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK LIFTING SENSOR (FRONT) SIGNAL

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Read the voltage signal driver seat control unit harness connector and ground with an oscilloscope.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace driver seat control unit. Refer to 

ADP-210, "Removal and Installation"

.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK LIFTING SENSOR (FRONT) CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect driver seat control unit and lifting motor (front) connector.

3.

Check continuity between driver seat control unit harness connector and lifting motor (front) harness con-
nector.
