AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION – Troubleshooting <A/T> 23-31 INSPECTION PROCEDURE 19 Vehicle speed sensor system Probable cause The cause is probably a defective vehicle speed sensor circuit or a defective Malfunction of the vehicle speed sensor Malfunction of connector Malfunction of the engine-A/T-ECU (2) NG (3) NG OK Check the ignition switch. (Refer to GROUP 54 – Ignition switch.) NG OK OK Replace the engine-ECU. Replace the engine-A/T-ECU. Check the harness wire between the vehicle speed sensor and NG Check the harness wire between the engine-A/T-ECU and the NG Repair Check trouble symptom. Check the following connectors: A-71, B-19, B-86 NG Check the harness wire between the vehicle speed sensor and NG Repair OK Check trouble symptom. Check the harness wire NG Repair OK Check trouble symptom. OK Check the following NG Repair OK Measure at the vehicle speed sensor connector A-71. Disconnect the connector, and measure at the harness side. (1) Voltage between 1 and earth (Ignition switch: ON) OK: Battery voltage (2) Voltage between 3 and earth (Ignition switch: ON) OK: 4.8 – 5.2 V (3) Continuity between 2 and earth OK: Continuity (1) NG Check the following NG Repair Check the vehicle speed sensor. NG Replace |
