MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION (MFI) DIAGNOSIS TSB Revision MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION (MFI) <3.0L> 13B-831 TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely • Power steering pressure switch failed. • Incorrect power steering fuid level. • Incorrect oil pump pressure. • Harness damage in power steering pressure switch circuit, or connector damage. • ECM failed. <M/T> • PCM failed. <A/T> DIAGNOSIS Required Special Tools: • MB991958: Scan tool (MUT-III Sub Assembly) • MB991824: V.C.I. • MB991827: USB Cable • MB991911: Main Harness B STEP 1. Using scan tool MB991958, check data list item 27: CAUTION To prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the 27, Power Steering Pressure Switch. • If the steering wheel is stopped while idling, "OFF" will be displayed. • If the steering wheel is steered while idling, "ON" will be displayed. (4) Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position. YES : It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent. Refer to GROUP 00, How to Use Troubleshooting/ NO : Go to Step 2. STEP 2. Check the power steering fluid level. . Q: Are there any abnormalities? YES : Repair it. Then go to Step 7. STEP 3. Check the power steering pressure switch. Q: Are there any abnormalities?
