TROUBLESHOOTING MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION (MPI) <4G1> 13B-189 FUNCTION • The oil feeder control valve controls the phase angle of the intake camshaft by the signal from TROUBLE JUDGEMENT Check Conditions • Ignition switch is in "ON" position. • Oil feeder control valve is in OFF position. Judgement Criterion • For 4 seconds, driving voltage of oil feeder con- trol valve in engine ECU is abnormal. PROBABLE CAUSES • Failed oil feeder control valve • Open/short circuit in or damage to the oil feeder control valve circuit, or loose connector contact • Failed engine-ECU DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE STEP 1. Connector check: A-101 oil feeder Q: Is the check result normal? YES : Go to Step 2. NO : Repair or replace. STEP 2. Check oil feeder control valve. • Check oil feeder control valve (Refer to ). Q: Is the check result normal? YES : Go to Step 3. NO : Replace the oil feeder control valve. STEP 3. Perform voltage measurement at A-101 • Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side. • Ignition switch: ON • Voltage between terminal No. 1 and earth. OK: System voltage Q: Is the check result normal? YES : Go to Step 5. NO : Go to Step 4.
