MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION (MPI) <4A9>

STEP 15. Check harness between A-110 (terminal 
No. 3) camshaft position sensor connector and 
B-106 (terminal No. 4) engine control relay 
connector.

NOTE: Before checking harness, check intermediate 
connector A-17 and B-112, and repair if necessary.

• Check power supply line for damage.

Q: Is the check result normal? 

YES : 

Go to Step 16 .

NO : 

Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 16. Connector check: A-114 engine-ECU 
connector or engine-CVT-ECU connector

Q: Is the check result normal? 

YES : 

Go to Step 17 .

NO : 

Repair or replace the connector.

STEP 17. Check harness between A-110 (terminal 
No. 2) camshaft position sensor connector and 
A-114 (terminal No. 12) engine-ECU connector or 
engine-CVT-ECU connector.

• Check output line for damage.

Q: Is the check result normal? 

YES : 

Go to Step 18 .

NO : 

Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 18. Check harness between A-110 (terminal 
No. 1) camshaft position sensor connector and 
A-114 (terminal No. 27) engine-ECU connector or 
engine-CVT-ECU connector.

• Check earthing line for damage.

Q: Is the check result normal? 

YES : 

Go to Step 19 .

NO : 

Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 19. Check camshaft position sensing 
cylinder.

Q: Is the check result normal? 

YES : 

Go to Step 20 .

NO : 

Replace camshaft position sensing cylinder.

Code No. P0403: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control System <CVT>

OPERATION

• Power is supplied to the EGR valve (terminal No. 

2 and No. 5) from the engine control relay (termi-
nal No. 4).

• The engine-CVT-ECU (terminal No. 5, No. 6, No. 

53 and No. 54) makes the power transistor in the 
unit be in ON, and that makes currents go on the 
EGR valve (terminal No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 
6).
