STEERING ANGLE SIGNAL INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE 

1. Inspect the wheel alignment and inflation pressure. 



If there is any malfunction, adjust the applicable part.  

2. Park the vehicle on level ground.  

3. Turn the ignition switch off.  

4. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.  

5. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS. 



When using the IDS (laptop PC) 

1. Select "Chassis".  

2. Select "ABS/DSC".  

3. Select "Sensor Initialization".  



When using the PDS (Pocket PC) 

1. Select "All Tests and Calibrations".  

2. Select "Sensor Initialization".  

6. Perform the initialization procedure according to the directions on the screen.  

7. Drive the vehicle forward.  

8. After 5 min of driving, verify that the DSC system is normal. 

WARNING:



If the initialization procedure of the steering angle signal is not 
completed, the DSC will not operate properly and may cause an 
accident. Therefore, always perform initialization of the DSC HU/CM 
steering angle signal to ensure proper DSC operation when any of 
the following items are performed. 



FRONT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION 

1. Remove or install the front ABS wheel-speed sensor in the same order of vehicles with ABS. (See 

FRONT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)  

FRONT ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR INSPECTION 

1. Inspect the front ABS wheel-speed sensor in the same order of vehicles with ABS. (See FRONT ABS 

WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR INSPECTION .)  

REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION 

1. Remove or install the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor in the same order of vehicles with ABS. (See REAR 

ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)  

REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR INSPECTION 

1. Inspect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor in the same order of vehicles with ABS. (See REAR ABS 

WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR INSPECTION .)
