CHECK KEY SLOT CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect BCM and key slot connector.

3.

Check continuity between BCM connector and key slot connector.

4.

Check continuity between BCM connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness between BCM and key slot.

5.

CHECK KEY SLOT 

Refer to 

DLK-73, "Component Inspection"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 6.

NO

>> Replace key slot. Refer to 

DLK-223, "Removal and Installation"

.

6.

CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT 

Refer to 

GI-39, "Intermittent Incident"

.

>> INSPECTION END.

KEY CYLINDER SWITCH

Description

Power window main switch detects condition of the door key cylinder switch and transmits to BCM as the
LOCK or UNLOCK signals.

1.

CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL

Check (“KEY CYL LK-SW”, “KEY CYL UN-SW”) in “DATA MONITOR” mode for “POWER DOOR LOCK SYS-
TEM” with CONSULT-III. Refer to 

DLK-50, "DOOR LOCK : CONSULT-III Function (BCM - DOOR LOCK)"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Key cylinder switch is OK.

NO

>> Refer to 

SEC-112, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Check voltage between power window main switch connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Replace power window main switch. Refer to 

PWC-126, "Removal and Installation"

. After that,

Refer to 

PWC-16, "POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH : Special Repair Requirement"

.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SIGNAL CIRCUIT

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect power window main switch connector and front door key lock assembly (driver side) (key cyl-
inder switch) connector.

3.

Check continuity between power window main switch connector and front door lock assembly (driver side)
(key cylinder switch) connector.

4.

Check continuity between power window main switch connector and ground.

CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between front door lock assembly (driver side) connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 4.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness.

4.

CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH

Check door key cylinder switch. 
Refer to 

SEC-113, "Component Inspection"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-39, "Intermittent Incident"

.

NO

>> Replace front door lock assembly (driver side) (key cylinder switch). Refer to 

DLK-207, "FRONT

DOOR LOCK : Removal and Installation"

. After that,  Refer to 

PWC-41, "Special Repair Require-

ment"

.

1.

CHECK DOOR KEY CYLINDER SWITCH

Check front door lock assembly (driver side) (key cylinder switch).

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> Key cylinder switch is OK.

NO

>> Replace front door lock assembly (driver side) (key cylinder switch). Refer to 

DLK-207, "FRONT

DOOR LOCK : Removal and Installation"

. After that,  Refer to 

PWC-41, "Special Repair Require-

ment"

HOOD SWITCH

HOOD SWITCH

Description

Hood switch is built into hood lock (RH) and connected to IPDM E/R whitch detects the open/close condition of
hood.

Component Function Check

1.

CHECK FUNCTION

1.

Select “HOOD SW” in “Data Monitor” mode with CONSULT-III. 

2.

Check the hood switch signal under the following condition.

Is the indication normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END.

NO

>> Go to  

SEC-114, "Diagnosis Procedure"

.

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK HOOD SWITCH SIGNAL

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> GO TO 2.

2.

CHECK HOOD SWITCH CIRCUIT

1.

Disconnect IPDM E/R and hood switch connector.

2.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and hood switch harness connector.

3.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness.

3.

CHECK IPDM E/R OUTPUT

1.

Connect the IPDM E/R connector.

2.

Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.
