Removal 

1. Remove the flexplate or the flywheel. For additional information, refer to FLEXPLATE - 

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION or FLYWHEEL - MANUAL TRANSMISSION .  

2. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN - 4X2, 4.6L , OIL PAN 

- 4X2, 5.4L or OIL PAN - 4X4 .  

3. Use the special tools to remove the crankshaft rear oil slinger.

4. Use the special tools to remove the rear oil seal.
