2. Remove the A/C pressure cutoff switch (19D594). 

z

Discard the O-ring seal.

3. To install, reverse the removal procedure. 

z

Install a new O-ring seal lubricated in clean PAG oil.  

PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE - 4.2L 

Removal 

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM .  

2. Remove the A/C compressor pressure relief valve (19D644).

Installation 

1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

Lubricate the O-ring seal with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-
DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.  

PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE - 4.6L AND 5.4L 

Removal 

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM .  

2. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.  

3. Remove the A/C compressor pressure relief valve (19D644).

Installation 

1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

Lubricate the O-ring seal with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-
DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.

Removal and Installation 

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM .  

2. Remove the air deflector. 

1. Remove the jack handle.  

2. Remove the screws.  

3. Remove the air deflector. 

NOTE:

Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air 
conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system 
contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction 
accumulator.

NOTE:

If an A/C condenser core leak is suspected, the A/C condenser core must be 
leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle. Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL 
SYSTEM .
