91) Check EEC-V Wiring Harness
While still observing PID, wiggle and bend small sections of wiring harness working from sensor and
going toward PCM. If no changes in PID voltage reading occurs, go to next step. If changes in PID
voltage reading occurs, isolate fault and repair as necessary. If directed here for Continuous Memory
DTCs P1112 and P1117, perform DRIVE CYCLES to verify repair. Repeat QUICK TEST.
92) Inspect PCM & Wiring Harness Connectors
Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect suspect sensor and PCM connector(s). Inspect
connector(s) for damaged terminals, corrosion and loose terminals. If connectors and terminals are
damaged, repair as necessary. If directed here for Continuous Memory DTCs P1112 and P1117, perform
DRIVE CYCLES to verify repair. Repeat
QUICK TEST
. If connectors and terminals are okay, fault
cannot be identified at this time. Testing is complete. If directed here for Continuous Memory DTCs
P1112 and P1117, perform DRIVE CYCLES to verify repair. Repeat QUICK TEST.
100) For Continuous Memory Only DTCs P0125 & P0128: Check Engine Coolant Level
This DTC indicates CHT or ECT sensor has not reached the required temperature level to enter closed
loop operating conditions within a specified amount of time after starting engine. Possible causes for this
fault are:
z
Insufficient Engine Warm-Up Time
z
Thermostat Leaking Or Stuck Open
z
Malfunctioning CHT Or ECT Sensor
z
Low Coolant Level
Check coolant level. If coolant level is correct, see appropriate COOLING FANS article in ENGINE
COOLING. Repair cooling system as necessary. If coolant level is incorrect, add coolant to proper level,
clear DTCs and repeat
QUICK TEST
.
NOTE:
A break in step numbering sequence occurs at this point. Procedure skips
from step 92) to step 100). No test procedures have been omitted.
NOTE:
For additional testing information, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS.
WARNING:
To avoid personal injury, DO NOT loosen coolant pressure relief cap
while engine is operating or hot. Cooling system is under pressure
and steam and/or hot coolant can come out forcefully when cap is
loosened slightly.
NOTE:
A break in step numbering sequence occurs at this point. Procedure skips
from step 100) to step 105). No test procedures have been omitted.
NOTE:
For additional testing information, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS.
