1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.  

FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR 

Removal 

1. Perform the pressure relief - fuel line venting procedure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

RELEASE .  

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.  

3. Raise and support the vehicle.  

4. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor. 

1. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector.  

2. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor.

Installation 

NOTE:

When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive 
symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The 
vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to learn the strategy.

NOTE:

Replace the fuel tank pressure sensor and spacer O-ring seals.

NOTE:

Lubricate the fuel tank pressure sensor and spacer O-ring seals with 
Super Premium 5W3O engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-
F or equivalent prior to installation, to help seal and ease the installation.
