13. Connect the Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor and the knock sensor electrical 

connectors.

14. Install the A/C compressor, if equipped. For additional information, refer to AIR 

CONDITIONING (A/C) COMPRESSOR -- 4.2L .  

15. Install the power steering fluid reservoir. 

1. Position the power steering fluid reservoir.  

2. Install the bolts.

Both Cylinder Heads  

16. Install the exhaust manifolds. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST 

MANIFOLD LH and EXHAUST MANIFOLD RH . 

17. Install the LH valve cover. For additional information refer to VALVE COVER LH . 

18. Install the RH valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER RH .  

19. Install the lower intake manifold. For additional information, refer to LOWER INTAKE 

MANIFOLD .  

NOTE:

Inspect the LH valve cover gasket (6584) for damage. Install a 
new gasket, if necessary.

NOTE:

Inspect the RH valve cover gasket for damage. Replace if 
necessary.

OIL LEVEL INDICATOR & TUBE 

Removal & Installation 

1. Remove the oil level indicator tube. 

Remove the nut.  

Remove the oil level indicator tube.  

Remove and discard the oil level indicator tube O-ring seal.

2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
