11 31 FA G A d istinction can b e m ade between three dif ferent situations: - rest position (normal position during driving). - b leeding leading rear axle (increased pressure on driving a xle). - v entilating leading rear axle (returned to rest). Operation o f traction a ssistance is limited to a maximum time: 90 seconds. A further operation o f traction a ssistance m ay only b e s tarted after a pause o f 5 0 s econds after the end of the p revious operation. By now adjusting a time relay (G095) to a delay time of 60 8 s econds, the pause period is fulfilled. REST POSITION When traction assistance s witch C 882 is operated (connection between contacts 5 and 1), a voltage is applied to c onnection point 15 of time relay G 095 through fuse E062, wire 1221, contacts 5-1o fC 883, wire 4563. During normal d riving, the traction a ssistance switch contact (C709) is open. The s witch is self-returning. BLEEDING L EADING REAR AXLE Pressing and then releasing the traction assistance s witch a ctivates traction assistance (bleeding leading rear axle). The time relay (G095) is now switched on for a period o f 6 0 s econds. C ontacts 30 - 8 7 a re closed. V o ltage is now applied from the VIC to connection point 1 o f BV084. The V IC will only supply a voltage below the p rogrammed speed. This activates the solenoid v alve (B084), thus bleeding the bellows of the leading rear axle. A s a result, a greater load is placed on the d riving axle (more traction). When the 6 0 8 s econds have e lapsed, the connection 30 - 8 7 o f time relay G095 is broken. As a result, the v oltage on valve B 084 is also lost. There is a s afety m echanism to prevent overload of the a xle. The p roximity switch (E542) monitors the a xle load. When the m aximum value is reached, the proximity s witch (E542) is activated and a supply v oltage is applied to c onnection point 1 of relay G 427. Relay G 427 is now energised, thereby breaking c ontacts 3 - 4 . T he bleed valve (B084) is no longer activated, so that bleeding is no longer performed, but is immediately ventilated again. 200332 ᓻ 3-126 5 CHANGES IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Changes in the electrical system from chassis number 0E608863 CF65/75/85 series |
