38 MECHANICAL LIFTING GEAR Manual lifting: When switch C704 (lifting gear switch) is operated (connection between contacts 3 - 1 ), a v oltage is applied to c onnection point 1 o f B071 through fuse E062, wire 1221, contacts 3-1o fs w it c hC 704, wire 4550, contacts 3 - 4 of relay G 381 and wire 5180. This valve is energised. The v oltage is applied to connection point 85 of relay G 052 at the s ame time through D622, wire 4552, contacts 30 - 87a of relay G 066 and wire 4557. This is activated and closes contacts 1 - 2 . A voltage is now applied to c onnection point 1 o f B 073 through contacts 1-2o fr e la y G 0 5 2 a n d w ir e 4554. The o il pump m otor starts to run. If the o il pressure becomes too h igh (> 160 bar), E524 will close. V o ltage is now applied to connection point 85 of relay G 066 through c o n ta c ts 1-2o fE 524. This is energised and it breaks the connection 30 - 87a. V o ltage is now applied to c onnection point 85 of relay G066 from wire 4552 through contacts 30 - 8 7 of relay G 066 and wire 4558. This remains energised. At the s ame time the voltage through relay G 052 is lost. C ontacts 1 - 2 open and the v oltage on connection point 1 o f B073 is lost. T he pump m otor is no longer driven and the o il pressure drops. Manual lowering: When switch C704 (lifting gear switch) is operated (connection between contacts 3 - 7 ), a v oltage is applied to c onnection point S1 of D503 through fuse E062, wire 1221, contacts 3-7o fs w it c hC 7 0 4 a n d w ir e 4551. A v oltage is applied to c onnection point 1 o f B072 through connection point 87 of D503 and wire 4553. This valve is energised. The v oltage is applied to c onnection point 85 of relay G 052 at the s ame time through D623, wire 4552, contacts 30 - 87a of relay G 066 and wire 4557. This is activated and closes contacts 1 - 2. A v oltage is now applied to c onnection point 1 o f B073 through contacts 1-2o fr e la y G052 and wire 4554. The o il pump m otor starts to run. If the o il pressure becomes too h igh (> 160 bar), E524 will close. V o ltage is now applied to connection point 85 of relay G 066 through c o n ta c ts 1-2o fE 524. This is energised and breaks the connection 30 - 87a. Automatic axle load p rotection: If the p ressure on the driven a xle is g reater than the legal maximum, sensor E584 is activated. This puts s ensor E507 in ’stand-by ’ mode. If the a cceptable a xle load increases further (> 10 ton), sensor E507 automatically lowers the trailing a xle. If the a xle has been lifted, F097 (proximity switch for trailing a xle lifting gear) ensures that relay G380 is energised through wire 3661. A v oltage is now applied through fuse E062, wire 1221, contacts 3-5o fr e la y G 3 8 0 to connection point 1 o f E 507. This is activated. The v oltage is immediately transmitted to S 2 on D503. The s ignal sent by the a xle load protection proximity s witch (E507) to S2 must be maintained for a t least 1 0 s econds before the lifting gear electronic unit (D503) will activate the v alve (B072) and the lifting-gear pump m otor (B073) to lower the trailing a xle. This is to prevent the legal maximum a xle load being exceeded. If the dashboard s witch is operated within this 2.5 m inute period, the e lectronic unit w ill be reset and another 2.5 m inute period w ill start. 0202 ᓻ 2-156 5 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Electrical system series 65/75/85 CF |
