INSTALLATION

(1) Place latch in position.
(2) Install screws to attach latch to console.
(3) Check operation of latch.

CENTER CONSOLE ARMREST LID

REMOVAL

(1) Open armrest lid.
(2) Remove lid attaching screws.
(3) Remove lid from console.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place lid in position.
(2) Install screws to attach lid to console.
(3) Check operation of lid.

CENTER CONSOLE SHIFT BEZEL

REMOVAL

(1) Place gear selector in neutral.
(2) Loosen set screw attaching gear shift knob to

gear shift.

(3) Remove gear shift knob from gear shift.
(4) Disengage clips attaching bezel to center con-

sole (Fig. 8), or (Fig. 9).

(5) Disconnect the ash tray light and power outlet,

if equipped.

(6)

Disconnect the transmission range indicator

illumination connector.

(7) Remove bezel from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Connect the transmission range indicator illu-

mination connector.

(2) Connect the transmission indicator lamp. Con-

nect ash tray light, if equipped.

(3) Place bezel in position on vehicle.
(4) Engage clips attaching bezel to center console.
(5) Push gear shift knob onto gear shift.
(6) Tighten set screw attaching gear shift knob to

gear shift.

CENTER CONSOLE CUP HOLDER ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

(1) Remove center console shift bezel (Fig. 8), or

(Fig. 9).

(2) Raise console armrest lid.
(3) Remove screws at top and bottom of cup holder

assembly (Fig. 10).

(4) Lift up and forward to remove assembly.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place cup holder into center console and align

screw holes.

(2) Install upper and lower screws.
(3) Lower console armrest lid.
(4) Install center console shift bezel.

CENTER CONSOLE SIDE PANELS – CONCORDE/
LHS

REMOVAL

(1) Move seats to the full rear position.
(2) Remove center console shift bezel (Fig. 8).
(3) Disengage clips from center console (Fig. 5).
(4) Remove side panels.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place center console side panels in position on

vehicle.

(2) Press side panel to seat clips.
(3) Install center console shift bezel.

CENTER CONSOLE SIDE PANELS – INTREPID,
LHS, 300M

REMOVAL

(1) Move seats to the full rear position.
(2) Remove center console bezel (Fig. 9).
(3) Remove steering column cover.
(4) Remove fasteners from the side panels (Fig. 6).
(5) Disengage side panel clips from center console.

(6) Remove side panels.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place center console side panels in position on

vehicle.

(2) Press on side panel to seat clips.
(3) Install fasteners to side panels.
(4) Install steering column cover.
(5) Install center console shift bezel.

CENTER CONSOLE REAR BEZEL

REMOVAL

(1) Disengage tabs on sides at bottom (Fig. 11).
(2) Open arm rest lid and remove rear bezel

attaching screws.

(3) Remove rear bezel.

INSTALLATION

(1) Align rear bezel in position on console.
(2) Install rear bezel attaching screws.
(3) Push forward at the bottom to lock tabs in

position.

CROSS CAR BEAM

REMOVAL

(1) Remove steering column and instrument panel

from vehicle.

(2) Remove fasteners attaching cross car beam to

plenum in both locations (Fig. 12).

(3) Remove left side fasteners attaching the cross

car beam to cowl side panel.

(4) Remove right side fasteners attaching the cross

car beam to cowl side panel.

(5) Remove cross car beam from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place cross car beam in position in vehicle.
(2) Install right side fasteners attaching the cross

car beam to cowl side panels.

(3) Install left side fasteners attaching the cross

car beam to cowl side panels.

(4) Install fasteners to plenum in both locations.
(5) Install steering column and instrument panel.

COWL SCREEN

REMOVAL

(1) Release hood latch and open hood.
(2) Remove wiper arms. Refer to Group 8K, Wind-

shield Wiper and Washer Systems.

(3) Remove screws attaching cowl screen at the

windshield and under hood (Fig. 13).

(4) Remove cowl screen from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place cowl screen in position on vehicle.
(2) Install cowl screen screws, starting at fender

moving inboard.

(3) Install wiper arms. Refer to Group 8K, Wind-

shield Wiper and Washer Systems.

DECK LID LATCH

REMOVAL

(1) Open deck lid.
(2) Remove fasteners attaching deck lid lining to

rear of deck lid.

(3) Remove bolts attaching deck lid latch to deck

lid (Fig. 14), (Fig. 15) or (Fig. 16).

(4) Remove deck lid latch from deck lid.
(5) Disconnect power lock connector from latch

solenoid.

(6) Disconnect deck lid ajar switch connector from

latch.

(7) Remove latch from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Place latch in position on vehicle.
(2) Connect deck lid ajar switch connector on latch.
(3) Connect power lock connector on latch solenoid.
(4) Place deck lid latch in position on deck lid.
(5) Install bolts to attach deck lid latch to deck lid.
(6) Adjust deck lid latch for proper deck lid to

quarter panel alignment and weatherstrip sealing.

(7) Install fasteners to attach deck lid lining to

rear of deck lid.

(8) Verify deck lid latch operation.

DECK LID

REMOVAL

(1) Release deck lid latch and open deck lid.
(2) Mark bolt locations on inside of deck lid to aid

installation.
