Preliminary Procedure
Using the J 7079-2 , remove the bearings from the front case half. See Special Tools.
Ensure the bearings are installed squarely into the bearing bores.

Transfer Case Shift Detent Lever Bearing - Inner
Tip:
Ensure the printing on the bearing is facing
upward.
Install the bearing using the long side of the
DT-48215 . See Special Tools.
Press the bearing until the tool bottoms on the
front case half.

Transfer Case Input Shaft Pilot Bearing
Tip:
Using a suitable adapter and an arbor press,
remove the input shaft pilot bearing by
going through the front of the input gear.
Install the bearing using the small side of the
DT-48212 . See Special Tools.
Press the bearing until the tool bottoms on
the input shaft.
