ABS FAQ

●What is ABS?

ABS is abbreviation of Anti-Lock System. ABS ensures to maintain good braking stability and cornering while

keeping optimum braking distance on various road surfarces.

●Why use ABS?

During braking, vehicle will lose steering ability when front wheel lock and vehicle will slid when rear wheel block.

ABS will ensure your control to vehicle when braking by preventing wheel from blocking. With ABS function, driver can

bypass obstacles on way.

How to tell if an ABS installed?

Two methods recommended:

Firstly, check if there is a short lighting ABS warning light on instruments panel or switches panel;

Secondly, consult from the dealer.

● How ABS operate?

Upon wheel speed sensor signal and certain control logic, ABS ECU controls each wheel brake channel pressure

through solenoid valve repeatedly regulating.

●How to tell if ABS is operating?

When ABS operating, brake pedal vibrating will be felt and ECU operating sound will be heard

Warning: DO NOT be afraid at this moment, DPRESSED brake pedal firmly and keep pedal depressed.

●  Is an ABS installed vehicle braking distance shorter than a vehicle without ABS?

In most cases, YES, especially on an icy, snowy or a wet road surface.    DO NOT forget to turn steering wheel to

bypass obstacles on way even under crucial circumstances.

●How if ABS fail?

If ABS fails, ABS warning light will be on steadily,ABS will not work but conventional brake still operates. You may

brake as per conventional braking method.

When ABS warning light turns on?

ABS warning light goes on for 1.7 second and then off after engine on. During driving, ABS will not go on until ABS

fails. Therefore, the fault must be repaired as soon as possible once ABS warning light goes on during normal driving

condition. We recommend you to repair the fault at vehicle service shop and do not try to repair ABS by yourself.
