„ NOTE: At this point if the front arm shock
absorber was removed from the front arm, install it
and tighten securely.

11. Secure the outer idler wheel mounting block

with the cap screw and lock nut. Tighten to

specifications.

„ NOTE: When tightening the mounting block lock
nut, it is recommended that idler wheel cap screw
(A) be installed to maintain proper alignment.

12. Secure the outer idler wheel to the mounting

block with a cap screw, flat washers, idler

wheel, and a lock nut. Tighten to specifications.

13. Secure the front rail supports with cap screws

(coated with blue Loctite #243). Tighten to

specifications.

14. On the Touring models, install the rear arm stop

with a cap screw (coated with blue Loctite

#243). Tighten to specifications.

15. Tighten the cap screw and lock nut securing the

rear arm assembly (from step 4) to specifica-

tions.

16. On the Touring models, tighten the cap screw

securing the rear inner idler wheel assembly

(from step 6) to specifications.

17. Tighten the rear arm shock pivot/idler wheel

assembly (from step 4) to specifications.

18. Tighten the front inner idler wheel assembly cap

screw (from step 4) to specifications.

19. Secure the end cap onto the slide rail using a cap

screw, flat washers, and a lock nut. Tighten to

specifications.

„ NOTE: Apply a light coat of grease to the slide
rail surface to aid in installing a new wear strip. If
there are any sharp edges on the lower portion of
the rail, use a file to remove them.

20. From the back, start the wear strip onto the rail;

then using a soft hammer, drive the wear strip

forward into position. Secure with a machine

screw and lock nut. Tighten to specifications.

„ NOTE: Steps 21-24 are for the Bearcat W/T with
articulation. For remaining models, proceed to
step 25.

21. Install spacers (A) and the articulating skid

frame to the slide rails; then secure with two cap

screws and lock nuts. Tighten only until snug.

22. Install the cap screw securing the rear arm to the

slide rail and bracket. Tighten to specifications.

23. At this time, tighten the two cap screws and lock

nuts (from step 21) to specifications.

24. Install the spacer and idler wheel to the adjuster

bracket axle; then tighten the idler wheel cap

screw to specifications.

25. Install the skid frame (see Installing Skid Frame

in this sub-section).

„ NOTE: It is advisable to install the rear arm
springs onto the adjuster blocks after the skid
frame has been installed.

26. Adjust track tension deflection (see Track Ten-

sion in this sub-section) and track alignment

(see Track Alignment in this sub-section).

Articulating Skid Frame

(Bearcat W/T w/Articulation)

DISASSEMBLING

1. Remove the rear arm cap screw, washer, and

lock nut securing the rear arm to the mounting

brackets and slide rail.

2. Remove the cap screws and washers securing

the center pivot idler wheels to the articulating

bracket axle. Account for an axle, two outer axle

spacers, and four washers.

3. Remove the two cap screws and lock nuts secur-

ing the articulating skid frame mounting bracket

to the slide rail. Account for two bracket spac-

ers.

4. Invert the skid frame and remove the axle tube

from the spring brackets.

5. Remove the cap screw and lock nut securing the

swing arm to the articulating frame mounting

brackets; then remove the mounting brackets

from the swing arm assembly and account for

the swing arm tube, axle, two bushings, and two

serrated axles.

6. Remove the lock nut, washer, and cap screw

securing each of the track bumper guides to the
