SRC-90

< DTC/CIRCUIT DIAGNOSIS >

B1433 LAP PRE-TENSIONER

• Before servicing, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal and wait at least 3

minutes. (To discharge backup capacitor.)

• Never use unspecified tester or other measuring device.

1.

CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR

Check the harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Replace harness connector.

2.

CHECK WIRING HARNESS

Check the wiring harness externals.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3. 

NO

>> Replace wiring harness.

3.

REPLACE LAP PRE-TENSIONER RH

1.

Replace lap pre-tensioner RH. Refer to 

SB-7, "SEAT BELT RETRACTOR : Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to 

SRC-89, "DTC Description"

.

Is DTC detected?

YES

>> GO TO 4. 

NO

>> INSPECTION END

4.

REPLACE AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT 

1.

Replace air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to 

SR-28, "Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to 

SRC-89, "DTC Description"

.

Is DTC detected?

YES

>> GO TO 1. 

NO

>> INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK 12V BATTERY

Check 12V battery. Refer to 

PG-136, "FOR MAINTENANCE REQUIRED BATTERY MODELS : How to Han-

dle Battery"

 (For maintenance required battery) or 

PG-142, "FOR MAINTENANCE FREE BATTERY MODELS

: How to Handle Battery"

 (For maintenance free battery).

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts. 

2.

CHECK DTC WITH AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT

Check that DTC is not detected with air bag diagnosis sensor unit.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Refer to 

SRC-19, "DTC Index"

.

3.

CHECK COMBINATION METER POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT

Check combination meter unit power supply and ground circuit. Refer to 

MWI-61, "COMBINATION METER :

Diagnosis Procedure"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 4.

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts. 

4.

REPLACE AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT

1.

Replace air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to 

SR-28, "Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Check air bag warning lamp operation.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> GO TO 5.

5.

REPLACE COMBINATION METER

1.

Replace combination meter. Refer to 

MWI-80, "Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Check air bag warning lamp operation.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-41, "Intermittent Incident"

.

< SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS >

SRS AIR BAG WARNING LAMP DOES NOT TURN ON

Diagnosis Procedure

1.

CHECK DTC WITH AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT AND COMBINATION METER

Check that DTC is not detected with air bag diagnosis sensor unit and combination meter.
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Refer to 

SRC-19, "DTC Index"

 (air bag diagnosis sensor unit) and 

MWI-39, "DTC Index"

 (combi-

nation meter).

2.

CHECK COMBINATION METER POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT

Check combination meter unit power supply and ground circuit. Refer to 

MWI-61, "COMBINATION METER :

Diagnosis Procedure"

.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts. 

3.

CHECK AIR BAG FUSE

Check 10 A fuse [No. 2, located in fuse block (J/B)].

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 4.

NO

>> Replace the fuse.

4.

CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR

Check the harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 5.

NO

>> Replace harness connectors.

5.

CHECK WIRING HARNESS

Check the wiring harness externals.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 6.

NO

>> Replace wiring harness.

6.

REPLACE AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT

1.

Replace air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to 

SR-28, "Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Check air bag warning lamp operation.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> GO TO 7.

7.

REPLACE COMBINATION METER

1.

Replace combination meter. Refer to 

MWI-80, "Removal and Installation"

.

2.

Check air bag warning lamp operation.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END

NO

>> Check intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-41, "Intermittent Incident"
