Symptom: P0720-LOW OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR - RPM ABOVE 15 MPH When Monitored and Set Condition: P0720-LOW OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR - RPM ABOVE 15 MPH When Monitored: Continuously with the key on, engine running, and gear selector NOT in park or neutral. Set Condition: This code will set if the vehicle speed (from the CAB module) is above 24 kmh (15 MPH), and the Output Shaft Speed sensor is below 60 RPM for 2.6 seconds. POSSIBLE CAUSES PARK/NEUTRAL DTC PRESENT INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR PCM - OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY 1 Ignition on, engine not running. t, read DTCs. Is the Good Trip Counter for P0720 displayed and equal to 0? All Yes → No → 2 Ignition on, engine not running. t, read the Powertrain Control Module DTC’s. Is there a Park/Neutral DTC present?
