throttle position sensor fittings and turn on
the ignition switch. Check if the throttle
opening value displayed on ADC2000
diagnostic instrument is 0% (0.0 - 0.25V).
4
Check the throttle position sensor signal
circuit;
Check if the circuit between the sensor
and the ECM suffers the following:
• Short circuit with the power source
Confirm repair
To Step 11
5
Check the sensor reference voltage circuit:
Check if the circuit between the sensor
and the ECM suffers the following:
Open circuit (Ω stage)
Ground fault (Ω stage)
Short circuit with the power source
Confirm repair
To Step 6
6
Check the sensor input signal circuit:
Check if the circuit between the sensor
and the ECM suffers the following:
Open circuit (Ω stage)
Ground fault (Ω stage)
Short circuit with the power source
(anode): (voltage stage)
Confirm repair
To Step 7
7
Check the sensor ground circuit:
Check if the circuit between the sensor
and the ECM suffers the following:
Open circuit (Ω stage)
Ground fault (Ω stage)
Short circuit with the power source
(anode): (voltage stage)
Confirm repair
To Step 8
8
Turn off the ignition switch
Create a short circuit between the sensor
signal circuit and the 5V reference voltage
Turn on the ignition switch
Check if the throttle opening value
displayed on ADC2000 diagnostic
instrument is 100% (about 5V).
To Step 9
To Step 11
9
Turn on the ignition switch.
Measure with a voltmeter if the voltage
between the ground circuit and the
reference power supply circuit is 5V.
To Step 10
To Step 11
10
Replace the throttle position sensor
Confirm the repair
11
Replace the engine control unit (ECM)
Confirm the repair
