Chapter Eight: Central Door Lock 

 

Section One: Introduction to Central Door Lock System 

 

Chery A15 adopts full electric-control central door lock system, which is composed of 

a four-wire control module, three secondary door lock operating motors, one trunk lid 

operating motor, etc. All these locks are activated and inactivated by central door lock 

interlocking mechanism controlled by door lock switch at driver’s side. Central door 

lock module is located in front left door.

Section Two: Working Principle of Central Door Lock 

 

 

Pin 4 in central module is the power supplied by constant current S18 30A fuse, pin 2 

is earthing. Pin 1 and pin 3 are respectively connected to all operating motors. When 

door lock switch at driver’s side is turned to OFF position, all doors are locked; when 

door lock switch at driver’s side is turned to ON position, all doors are unlocked. 

 
 

Section Three: Troubleshooting 

 

1. All door locks do not work 

Symptoms: 

1). When locking with door lock switch at driver’s side, all locks are not activated. 

2). When unlocking with door lock switch at driver’s side, all locks are not activated. 

Possible Causes: 

1). Constant power supply S18 30A fuse on terminal 30 burned; 

2). Circuit fault with central door lock module and S18 30A fuse; 

3). Poor earthing; 

4). Central door lock module fault. 

Action: 

First check constant power supply S18 30A fuse of terminal 30 to see if it supplies 

12V power, if no power supply and the fuse is normal then check circuit for problem. 

If a 12V power is supplied, check the connection between fuse S18 A30 and pin 4 of 

central door lock module to see if a 12V power is supplied. If no power supply check 

circuit for problem, and if a 12V power is supplied, check pin 2 of central door lock 

module to see if it is earthed. If no earthing check circuit for problem, and if it is 

earthed, central door lock module is at fault and shall be replaced.   

 

2. Unlocking disabled with all central door locks 

Symptom:

1) Unlocking is disabled with all central door locks after being locked.   

Possible Cause: 

1) Central door lock module fault. 

Action: 

Replace central door lock module. 

 

3. Locking disabled with all central door locks 

Symptom:  

Locking is disabled with all central door lock after being unlocked. 

Possible Cause: 

Central door lock module fault. 

Action: 

Replace central door lock module. 

 

4. Ohmic values of central door lock motors 

Master central door lock motor (at driver’s side): 315Ω; 

Door lock motors on doors: 20Ω; 

Trunk lid lock motor: 10Ω. 

In case of ohmic value exceeding limit or infinite ∞Ω, replace central door lock 

resistor.
