Keyless Power Window Down (Open) Function

All power windows open when the unlock button on remote controller of Intelligent Key is activated and kept
pressed for more than 3 seconds with the ignition switch OFF. The windows keep opening if the unlock button
is continuously pressed.
The power window opening stops when the following operations are performed:

●

When the unlock button is kept pressed more than 15 seconds.

●

When the ignition switch is turned ON while the power window opening is operated.

●

When the unlock button is released.

While retained power operation activate, Keyless power window down (open) Function cannot be operated.
Keyless power window down operation mode can be changed by “P/W DOWN DELAY” mode in “WORK SUP-
PORT”. Refer to

BL-126, "WORK SUPPORT"

Room Lamp Illumination Operation

When the following conditions are met:

●

Condition of interior lamp switch is in DOOR position

●

Door switch OFF (when all the doors are closed)

Intelligent Key system turns on interior lamp (for 30 seconds) by receiving UNLOCK signal from remote con-
troller of Intelligent Key. For detailed description, refer to

LT-178, "ROOM LAMP TIMER OPERATION"

ENGINE START FUNCTION

When the registered Intelligent Key is carried, the engine can be started without inserting the key.

When ignition knob switch is ON (press ignition switch), Intelligent Key unit searches Intelligent Key in the
vehicle using inside key antenna.
When Intelligent Key is inside the vehicle, it performs the following operation.

●

Illuminate green “KEY” warning lamp in combination meter.

●

Released steering lock and ignition switch can be turned from OFF to ACC, ON or START position.
NOTE:
If Intelligent Key is not registered, “KEY” warning lamp in combination meter illuminate red.

●

Intelligent Key sends engine start signal via CAN communication line.

When ignition switch turns to START position, BCM sends starter request signal to IPDM E/R. Then, engine
starts.
Even if Intelligent Key battery runs down, Intelligent key unit can start engine with mechanical key built Intelli-
gent Key. For details, refer to

BL-234, "NVIS (NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS)"

All of the originally supplied Intelligent Key IDs (except for key) have been registered in Intelligent Key system.
If requested by the vehicle owner, a maximum of four Intelligent Key IDs can be registered into the Intelligent
Key system components.

WARNING CHIME FUNCTION
Operation Description

The warning chimes are as follows and are given to the user as warning information and warnings using com-
binations of Intelligent Key warning buzzer (inside and engine room), and warning lamps “KEY” and “P-
SHIFT”.

CHANGE SETTINGS FUNCTION

The settings for each function can be changed with the CONSULT-II, Display unit or Intelligent Key operation.

NOTE:
Once a function setting is changed, it will remain effective even if the battery is disconnected.

Changing Settings Using CONSULT-II

The settings for the Intelligent Key system functions can be changed using CONSULT-II (WORK SUPPORT).

Changing Settings Using Display Unit

The settings of the Intelligent Key system can be changed, using display unit.
For detailed description, refer to

AV-112, "Vehicle Electronic Systems"

*: If you change the horn chip or the lamp flash with the key fob or the Intelligent Key, the mode may not be changed with the display.
Use the key fob or the Intelligent Key to return the mode.

Selective Door Unlock

This key can switch the unlock doors of the 1st unlocking operation as follows:
ON (Only the request switch pushed door)

⇔

OFF (All the doors)

Keyless Remote Response - Horn

This key changes the horn chirp mode that occurring when pushing the LOCK button
on the Intelligent Key.

Keyless Remote Response - Lights

This key changes the hazard indicator flash mode occurring when pushing the LOCK or
UNLOCK button on the Intelligent Key.

Auto Re-Lock Time

The length of auto door re-lock time can be set.
(Setting value OFF, 1min, or 5min)

Intelligent Key Lock Response - Sound

The sound pattern of the Intelligent request switch operation can be set as desired.

Intelligent Key Unlock Response - Sound

The beep sounds when unlocking door with the Intelligent request switch can be turned
on or off.

Return All Settings to Default

All settings will return to the initial conditions.

INTELLIGENT KEY REGISTRATION

Intelligent Key-ID registration is performed using the CONSULT-II.

CAUTION:

●

After a new Intelligent Key-ID is registered, be sure to check the function.

●

When registering an additional Intelligent Key-ID, take any Intelligent Keys already registered and
Intelligent Keys for any other vehicles out of the vehicle before starting.

CONSULT-II can be used to check and delete Intelligent Key-IDs.
For future information, see the CONSULT-II Operation Manual NATS.

STEERING LOCK UNIT REGISTRATION
Steering Lock Unit ID Registration

CAUTION:

●

The method for registering a steering lock unit ID depends on the status of the steering lock unit
and Intelligent Key unit (new or old unit).

●

After registration is completed, press ignition switch with a portable unit in the vehicle so that it
can be turned, and confirm that it cannot be turned even when ignition switch is pressed without a
portable unit in the vehicle.

CAN Communication System Description

AIS006BZ

CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial communication line for real time application. It is an on-vehicle mul-
tiplex communication line with high data communication speed and excellent error detection ability. Many elec-
tronic control units are equipped onto a vehicle, and each control unit shares information and links with other
control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, control units are connected with 2
communication lines (CAN H line, CAN L line) allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring.
Each control unit transmits/receives data but selectively reads required data only.
