With CONSULT-II

Select “BCM” on CONSULT-II. With “HEAD LAMP” data monitor,
make sure “HEAD LAMP SW 1” turns ON-OFF linked with operation
of lighting switch.

Without CONSULT-II

ACTIVE TEST

With CONSULT-II

Select “IPDM E/R” on CONSULT-II, and select “ACTIVE TEST”
on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.

Select “TAIL LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.

Touch “ON” screen.

Make sure parking, license plate, side marker and tail lamps
operate.

Without CONSULT-II

Start auto active test. Refer to

PG-23, "Auto Active Test"

Make sure parking, license plate, side marker and tail lamps operate.

OK or NG

>> GO TO 3.

>> GO TO 4.

CHECK IPDM E/R

Select “IPDM E/R” on CONSULT-II, and select “DATA MONI-
TOR” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.

Make sure “TAIL & CLR REQ” turns ON when lighting switch is
in 1ST position.

OK or NG

>> Replace IPDM E/R.

>> Replace BCM. Refer to

BCS-14, "Removal and Installa-

tion of BCM"

Parking, license plate, side marker and tail lamp
should operate.

CHECK INPUT SIGNAL

With CONSULT-II

Turn ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect front combination lamp RH and LH, license plate lamp RH and LH and rear combination lamp
RH and LH connectors.

Select “IPDM E/R” on CONSULT-II, and select “ACTIVE TEST” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen.

Select “TAIL LAMP” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.

Touch “ON” screen.

When tail lamp is operating, check voltage between front combination lamp, license plate lamp, rear com-
bination lamp harness connector and ground.

Without CONSULT-II

Turn ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect front combination lamp RH and LH, license plate lamp RH and LH and rear combination lamp
RH and LH connectors.

Start auto active test. Refer to

PG-23, "Auto Active Test"

Check voltage between front combination lamp connector and ground.

Check voltage between license plate lamp connector and ground.

Check voltage between rear combination lamp connector and ground.

OK or NG

>> GO TO 6.

>> GO TO 5.

CHECK PARKING, LICENSE PLATE, SIDE MARKER AND TAIL LAMP CIRCUIT

Turn ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and
front combination lamp harness connector.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and
license plate lamp harness connector.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and
rear combination lamp harness connector.

OK or NG

>> Replace IPDM E/R.

>> Repair harness or connector.

nector and ground.

Check continuity between license plate lamp harness connector
and ground.

Check continuity between rear combination lamp harness con-
nector and ground.

OK or NG

>> Check bulbs.

>> Repair harness or connector.

Parking, License Plate and Tail Lamps Do Not Turn OFF (After Approx. 10 Min-
utes)

CHECK IPDM E/R

Turn the ignition switch ON. Place the combination switch (lighting switch) in the ON position. Turn the
ignition switch OFF.

Make sure the parking, license plate, and tail lamps turn OFF after approximately 10 minutes.

OK or NG

>> INSPECTION END

>> Ignition relay malfunction. Refer to

PG-18, "Function of Detecting Ignition Relay Malfunction"

Bulb Replacement

LICENSE PLATE LAMP

Remove back door inner finisher. Refer to

EI-40, "BACK DOOR

TRIM"

in “EI” section.

Disconnect the license plate lamp connector.

Turn bulb socket counterclockwise and unlock it.

Remove bulb from its socket.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

PARKING LAMP (CLEARANCE LAMP)

For bulb replacement, refer to

LT-34, "Bulb Replacement"

in “HEADLAMP”. (XENON TYPE)

For bulb replacement, refer to

Remove the license plate lamp mounting screws and remove it.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Bulb Replacement

STOP & TAIL LAMP BULB, REAR SIDE MARKER LAMP BULB, REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP

Remove rear combination lamp. Refer to

LT-165, "Removal and

Installation"

Turn bulb socket counterclockwise and unlock it.

Remove bulb.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Remove rear combination lamp finisher.

Remove rear combination lamp mounting bolts.

Pull the rear combination lamp toward side of the vehicle and
remove from the vehicle.

Disconnect rear combination lamp connector.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal. Be careful of the following:

Stop/tail lamp

: 12V - 21/5W

Rear side marker lamp

: 12V - 5W

Rear turn signal lamp

: 12V - 21W

Bulb Replacement

Disconnect the battery negative cable.

Remove the lens using clip driver or suitable tool.

Remove the bulb.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

Pull wider part of thin plate of the map lamp to disengage the
metal clip.

Pull map lamp in direction shown by the arrow in the figure.

Disconnect map lamp connector and remove the map lamp.

INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.
