HOW TO SELECT PISTON AND BEARING

When Reusing Cylinder Block and Crankshaft

1. Measure each dimension of cylinder block main bearing housing inner diameter and crankshaft journal

outer diameter.

2. Find the measured dimension in the Selective-fit Service Parts Table.
3. The procedure below is the same procedure as step 3 and later steps of "Using new cylinder block and

crankshaft".

Main Bearing Grade Table

Using Undersize Bearing

• If the standard oil clearance cannot be obtained by standard size main bearing, use undersize (US) bearing.

• When using undersize bearing, install it, measure bearing inner diameter, and then grind journal to obtain

specified oil clearance.

never damage fillet roll area [1.5 – 1.7 mm (0.059 – 0.067 in)] (A).
